The day starts
Fresh renewed and
Clear like warm
April mornings bringing
Budding daffodils the
Dense fog of
Indecision rolled off
The coast of
My heart heralding
Change alone again
Like the sole
Tree on the
Prairie I will
Bring shade to
Those wishing to
Sit beside me
And sailing we
Were compass in
Hand pointing west
Nary a storm
Approached strong winds
Set to sail
Moving we were
Excited we were
For the quest
Of each other
One month into
Our voyage and
No land in
Sight we’re simply
Drifting now through
The seas of
Mediocrity no sea
Monsters no storms
Just the lull
Of water slapping
Against the hull
Sometimes life is
A cheesecake and
Sometimes it’s a
Seven-layer salad
Whichever you happen
To be eating
Grab your fork
And dig in
Wantonly for both
Will satisfy your
Thirst for life
Just wait stop
Take deep breaths
Count and let
Pass like a
Rain shower or
Snow flurry sometimes
The best thing
To do is
Stay put letting
The storm that
Your life is
To pass bringing
Eventual sunny skies
In life we
Face boulders in
Our path we
Can try to
Move them or
Avoid them some
Of our paths
Are littered with
Them while others
Have a few
Boulders aren’t obstacles
But rather lookouts
Upon which to
Climb giving perspective
Take hold and
Reach the top
In order to
See from whence
You’ve come and
To where that
You are going
