OgresAndImps (for YAM)

We don’t live

In round rooms

But rather square

Or some type

Of some square

Full of corners

In which hide

Chagrin and monsters

Gobbling up memories

Munch munch munch

Until at night

Out they come

Giggling like faeries

Bathing your sleep

In blissful dreams

Ogres and imps

Are the same

In the corners

Of your room

SaidAndDone

There is nothing

Quite as marvelous

As after all

Of this life

To stand at

The edge of

A tranquil pond

And skim stones

Some simply plop

Others dunk with

A clunk a

Few side wind

Until one a

Rectangle of slate

That feels so

Perfect in hand

Smooth and cool

Full of promise

Flies and skitters

Not just once

But four marvelous

Times before disappearing

This this standing

At waters edge

Is called counting

Your blessings and

Your sins its

Purpose is to

Show you your

Way to Heaven

At life’s end

Follow the skipping

Stone which skipped

The farthest for

That stone represents

Your true love

When all is

Said and done

Hello (for Michael 20)

And then from

Nothing but absolute

Stillness it fell

Like midnights snowfall

A single shimmering

Dancing sparkle around

And around the

Halo of the

Street lamp up

And down gleefully

And landing softly

On my ear

Reminding me that

I’m not alone

So long as

There’s someone else

To say hello

Leaving

My life is

Littered by tiny

Torn up promises

That swirl about

My feet thrown

There by others

That made but

Never kept them

Once I gathered

Them trying to

Piece together those

Things that I

Lost but like

Coins from different

Denominations together they

Proved to be

Worthless this time

When I leave

I will leave

Them behind too

Right there with

They and those

That broke them

And not me

ThisIsBliss (for Jay)

Imagine just imagine

Candles surrounding bath

Twinkling twilight bouncing

Off snowy windows

DeBussy’s Nocturne aloft

Falling and splashing

Into ears like

Trout in ponds

Causing quiet ripples

Around your body

Popping bubble after

Delicious bubble like

The warm dreams

Of children and

Then just then

Your smile dimming

All the rest

This is bliss
