see this thing that
people watch or approach
or touch like fabric
or wood or stone
may be soft or
smooth or cool under
fingers but the best
part about the best
thing at the best
time and best place
can’t be seen or
touched at all but
only ever heard it’s
your voice calling my
name whenever you call
me by my name

Why does it seem
that upon meeting another
that I’m drawn to
it can be simple
as coffee and cup
or key and lock
we naturally fit together
though neither of us
was made specifically for
the other until found
or chosen or formed
discovering that we do
indeed work together causing
one to be the
reason for the other
It’s all just happenstance
and sweet simple serendipity

Oh how I wish
that you were here
on this chilly morning
to roll over onto
and into warming me
staving off the need
to stray out of
bed and into cold
to ignite the fire
and warm the house
being content with my
morning selfishness with warming
myself and leaving the
rest of the world
to its own devices
I’m simply not ready
yet to care about
anyone else but us

was a seagull but
to me it was
an angel because being
here in Denver and
seeing what I see
is as close to

or lover one tends

primp wishing to present
