I do so enjoy
this time of day
these last few hours
of the long night
of twinkling far off
street lights of the
darkest of dark skies
of this deep dense
thick and unyielding black
I am an onlooker
awaiting like reveling children
on our Independence Day
for the skies to
open in an explosion
of this new day
Month: May 2023
Problems
I don’t make my
problems anyone else’s business
what could they do
do they even care
do they care enough
to set aside theirs
Problems are like spiderwebs
we walk into them
unaware until we’re tangled
had we’d known that
they were there waiting
then those same things
wouldn’t be a problem
but part of life
Problems most likely happen
when we’re looking away
at some other thing
completely stupidly blindly unaware
usually focused on desire
I told you so
Do not blame me
Adages of our age
Songs
There are some songs
which reverberate causing goosebumps
because I think they
resonate with every cell
making them stand up
like an audience inspired
clapping and hooting whistling
and then there are
other songs that promote
thought quiet thinking thought
that washes over me
like I’m a beach
being languidly lapped teasingly
taunted to go deeper
but I think that
my favorite song of
all is the symphony
which I hear when
my head is cradled
in your arms and
chest the distant drum
of heart and the
soothing syncopation of your
heart giving you life
BeIt
It takes but one
spark to brighten rooms
be it smile laugh
or love be it
embrace meal or bed
be it sunlight or
moon glow or star
be it kindness or
caring or even respect
It only ever takes
just one thing to
ignite almost everything else
be that one thing
be it every moment
every day of your
always bright beautiful life
Lightness
The thing about darkness
is the eventual light
It never takes much
to brighten the night
What does is white
a cool beacon inviting
Almost everything is drawn
never really knowing why
What is very important
however is that we
Always remain the light
most live in darkness
