DearWhomever

Dear whomever you are
and wherever you may
be I promise you
this we’ll find each
other in most unlikely
ways and unusual circumstances
we will be surprised
not because we did
but because we actually
did oh I know
here I sit musing
no different than giddy
girls leafing through magazines
and falling in love
but this I know
too whomever you are
you are my last
love my best love
the love which will
carry me above and
beyond and into eternity
and this last love
is my forever love
for love like life
is built upon the
shoulders of many other
failures standing the tallest
and burning the brightest

SpiritSun

I have met some
beautiful men in my
life not just physically
but spiritually and emotionally
as well for anyone
especially a younger man
to admit humility at
the outstretched hand of
his own divinity is
nothing short of miraculous
it reminds me that
despite what we see
and read and fear
about our world and
future clouds do part
eventually over many and
the Spirit of which
you believe does shine

Bear

I think
that bears
forget being
bears having
accepted long
ago that
being fed
was easier
than foraging
But bears
do remember
and not
only when
at the
end of
a pointy
stick they
are prompted
For bears
unlike humans
have heart
not mind

Cows

I’d read somewhere once
that as a storm
builds on the horizon
cows grazing take heed
but unlike people cows
run towards the storm
Funny isn’t it cows
those stupid grass munching
bovines understand the very
thing that people don’t
Storms bring rain and
a storm before you
contains less water than
the same storm that
remains hopefully behind you
Cows being the stupid
animals that they are
accept the inevitable and
charge headlong towards it
For wet is wet
well for cows anyway

Reed

I feel like a
reed stuck in a
swamp unsure how I
got here and wholly
uncertain as to what
if anything I’m doing
being here and not
over there with all
of the other reeds
Reeds are funny things
upright I suppose until
they’re not imposing when
together silly when not
But I suppose as
reeds go I’m lucky
for perhaps being here
is better than being
there for maybe here
I’ll discover some other
reason for being something
other than a reed
