Why does it
seem that there’s
always just one
of someone else
that turns screws
that causes collapse
whether it’s control
or just laughter
and this single
thing is usually
that one thing
which brings chagrin
to the owner
perhaps it’s then
when our innocence
is most apparent
making us delectable

On the apps
we chat about
sex as though
sex was important
Sex as we
know is a
brief interlude a
few pleasurable minutes
when our bodies
behave like coasters
up and down
and all around
and then nothing
back to zero
perhaps that’s why
those on apps
pursue this sex
with the same
dogmatic seriousness as
squirrels foraging nuts

It seems to me
that when one has
everything that one wants
there’s one small piece
that always remains missing
and this one small
thing while gone unnoticed
is that one small
thing which brings animation
to all the others
for without simply that
we are but marionettes
lacking our precious strings
