The insignificant 
of us 
is humbling 
when thought 
which so
few do
scurrying about 
making sense 
of things 
never meant 
to reason 
and yet 
we wonder 
all about 
this why 
when in
fact our 
souls want 
to think 
of where

I simply 
can’t wait 
to awaken 
sip kiss
and watch 
as the 
rest of 
the world 
wakes up 
to us 

I now know 
that we are
two celestial orbs 
nothing more than 
cold lonely rock 
that move in 
some orbit swinging 
farther away and 
closer to and
if not that
then we are 
tides influenced by 
them washing ashore 
and then retreating 
and if not 
either of those 
then I know 
not what we
are for what 
we are has
never been seen 
by human eye 
maybe by angels 

And then you 
turned like leaf
knowing its fall
time to go 
and I being 
that your tree
knows the same 
but this this
never gets easier 
this is when 
and never later 
I miss you 
most for the 
you I see
is already gone 

The path
your path
will get 
you eventually 
when you 
veer it
too veers
when you 
diverge it 
waits patiently 
and presents 
itself again 
you can 
fight you
can run 
you can 
deny but 
rest assured

be what
you were
