This slowing down 
be it dance 
or maybe life 
and oh definitely 
love creates the 
illusion that it
or anything or
anyone will last
but last lasts 
only as long 
as so long 
and never longer 
so drink from 
whatever cup is
present and presented
because later likely 
will never come 

When I think 
of him happiness 
washes over me 
not a care
do I have 
with him for 
trust and truth 
are the siblings 
to our love 
I know that 
he will think 
not would I
but of I
before he does 
anything for we
and not I
or even he
are always together 
despite being apart 
one mind of 
one heart always 
of one soul 

To me 
besides love 
curiosity is 
the greatest 
gift whether 
it be 
knowledge or
understanding or 
the knowledge 
of another 
or the 
understanding of 
something else 
curiosity takes 
me to 
places that 
I have 
never been 
and into 
the hearts
of those 
who I’ve 
never known 

To only love 
a very few
rather than many
I have learned 
is the privilege 
that love is 
for although love 
is the very 
being of life 
the deepest love 
is only kept 
and never shared 

It’s only ever after 
you’ve had all else
do you ever return 
and choose never settle 
for settling implies surrender 
but decide that something 
is best of all 
and only the lucky 
ones get to return 
to something still there 
not waiting choosing too
that is love divine
