Little diamonds glimmer 
in far off
hills delicate earrings 
which appear and
then not as
though a date
or even bride
turned her head 
for a moment 
making this twinkle 
far more captivating 
than even stars

Bedroom bathes
in low
east sun
and we
are bubbles 
shimmering in
its shine 
glowing orange 
then yellow 
and fleshy 
pink as 
its shadow 
quietly tells 
to finally 
white as
eyes land 
on things 
belonging to 
both that
earlier were 
night’s imagination 

My high school 
was a family 
born of families 
child after child 
brother after sister 
we all knew 
each other’s parents 
it wasn’t knowing 
or even pride
due to size
being the smallest 
school in town 
it was respect
as we knew 
and still know 
we are different 
to each other 
and the world 
we don’t care 
and that right 
there is family 

Let us speak 
only of clouds
not those above 
but those below 
clouds are clouds 
be they here
and surrounding me 
or high above 
prompting my wish
in these words 
be gone clouds
do not rest
in my heart 
for you are
not welcome here 
for down below 
you become mischievous 
and bring misery 
stay where you 
belong up above 
keep your shade
moving right along 

My life 
now is
just about 
me and 
I am
my job 
having served 
others in 
their attempts 
for same 
I doing
their labor 
on behalf 
but now 
and finally 
after all
