Snow

And like sleet
snow that starts
as sleepy rain
going through movements
before it becomes
the white dance
trickling then tickling
tippy taps against
my window teasing
you in bed
first under covers
chilly moving close
taking land giving
some giving little
giving less we
become then melt
just like that
would be snow

Bits

I will remember
bits of you
your smell which
hangs in every
room like evergreen
at the holidays
your taste which
lingers like a
gumdrop long dissolved
your feel like
silk in summer
and flannel in
fall and your
touch light like
a butterfly rough
like grit paper
pleasing like a
blanket pulled up
to chin warding
off chilly naps
these I will
promise I will

Wishes (to Bean)

Thinking you
knowing me
keeping us
hidden away
tucked inside
lucky charm
rabbits foot
right there
and free
from harm
wishing you
wishing me
these wishes
are we

Piano

One hand low
the other high
one hand half
the other full
one there alone
and the other
lost drawing close
each its own
composed as piece
part of whole
song of love
and its minuets
swelling to the
climaxes sweet silence

Kisses

It’s on
they’re on
the kettle
and song
as I
stand concocting
mornings brew
I also
stand listening
conjuring mornings
delicate melody
one which
tickles bringing
you here
one which
tempts taking
me there
and then
meet somewhere
in between
coffee and
music kisses
