You don’t know 
that when you 
do you do 
this very thing 
much like the 
sun when curtains 
are thrown open 
at first striking 
and then bathing 
and warming washing 
away the night 
this is how 
when you do 
the very thing 
that you don’t 
even know that 
you’re doing you 
do and how 
you doing it
makes me feel 
just like that 

The further I go 
and the longer I 
walk down this path 
the less I recognize 
until I too realize 
that I’m a stranger 
to this my life 
and all the others 
too are just strangers 
to this mine as
well as to theirs 
and that just maybe 
this is what is
meant to be infinity

I’m not rich
I’m actually poor 
but I’m happy 
which makes me 
one of the 
wealthiest guys around

say what isn’t 
sometimes it floats 
others it dives
but speaking is
just its launch
and hearing well 
that its sky

Coffee’s still hot 
bed still warm 
both things waiting 
my little castle 
built up high
away from others
