Find

Well you know
I didn’t come
here to find
you I came
here to find
me and you
found me by
me finding myself
first funny that

SelfLove

There’s one way
to love yourself
open that door
you know the
one at the
end of the
hall either upstairs
or maybe downstairs
and face whatever
it is that
you find there
it’s doubtful that
it is monsters
more likely shadows
of things that
you’ve believed for
so long were
mistakes and failures
and all other
kinds of nonsense
that children conjure

Call

There will be
a reckoning and
when that trumpet
sounds will you
be on the side
of those who
listened with empathy
or will you
remain selfishly deaf
to another’s misery
for only the
ears of kindness
will ever be
able to hear
the horns call
I pray for
your cold souls
for your eternal
despair will go
silent and unanswered
just as the
wails of those
whom you ignored
in the name
of your money

One

I fell in love
again later in life
and it caught me
by surprise it wasn’t
anyone who I’d expected
I spent so much
of my life loving
others that I never
gave myself a chance
to simply love one
that one is me

Reduce

Me pebble
once stone
before rock
and part
of mountain
like sliver
once plank
before limb
and part
of tree
shaped carved
whittled down
becoming less
yet more
for those
things unseen
are frequently
most irritating
