Looking back at
your past from
the future which 
is now your 
present and wishing 
to have changed 
it or altered 
it is like 
wishing that you’d
never been born 
for who you 
are at any 
given moment on
the timeline of
your life is 
as important to 
it as it’s 
to any other 
true forgiveness therefore 
is absolute forgiveness 
of all things 

I suppose I 
should’ve said goodbye 
but I never 
knew they left
they just disappeared 
or got bored 
or maybe lonely 
funny things monsters
and demons they’re 
just like us

And now one 
year later after 
long overdue promises
curl and blow
scraps of things 
soon to dust 
they will turn 
no better than 
leaves of fall
when in spring 
held such hope 
winter is this 
bittersweet cold clouds

I have always 
said that it’s 
easier to connect 
the dots when 
looking backwards than 
it is to 
see the path 
when looking forward 
so trust that
