Open

While we are
a sum of
parts we are
whole when it
comes to heart
we can’t be
carved and taken
bit by bit
as so many
open relationships do
nowadays looking for
someone to top
off their glass
left kinda empty

Pier

I’d rather not
than be the
me I’ve been
and maybe one
day the who
for someone else
but until then
you will find
me there at
the edge of
the pier waiting
for the sun

Brushing

As I stand
here brushing teeth
I realize that
I’m in love
with someone who
did once too
oh well I
guess that I’ll
swish and spit
and go about
my merry way
always thinking hoping
for another day

Blue

The blue
of who
and what
peeks around
the corner
peeps across
and down
the door
it peels
night away
and kneels
to day

Light

The light
comes in
a nod
a tap
a turn
and see
something new
is happening
be it
you be
it me
maybe be
it we
