Laughter (to Bean)

Your laughter peals

Like steeple bells

In some far

Off town reminding

Me of time

It sounds to

Me quiet like

Rain tapping the

Window and sometimes

As loud as

Rolling thunder across

Wheaten plains but

Mostly it’s those

Barely noticed giggles

That tickle me

Like snowflakes that

Alight on noses

AndEver (to Bean)

I have

But one

Regret and

That is

That I

Met you

Late and

Had already

Squandered much

Of my

Forever on

Whomever but

Whatever forever

That remains

Is your

Forever forever

And ever

Important (to Bean)

What is

Not important

Is how

Far you’ve

Come

What is

Very important

Is whom

You’ve touched

Along your

Way

WeAsPurses

We all enter

This world alone

Empty purses with

Empty hearts in

Which we then

Place fondness and

Affections and love

We also withdraw

From that purse

The exact same

Things donating them

To others and

Realizing that little

Remains for us

We stand huddled

And alone broken

Until at last

Someone tosses in

A few coins

A few more

And then many

It is not

How full the

Purse is that

Matters it simply

Matters that it’s

Empty for only

Then can it

Be filled again

Again and again

Looking (to Bean)

We bumped

Into the

Other while

Looking for

Something else

Or so

I had

Always thought

Until you

Told me

Years later

That you

Were looking

For me

And I

In turn

Were looking

For you
