I live in 
presence a balance 
of everything and 
nothing where the 
good vibes are 
found in everything 
and the bad 
vibes take their 
place in nothing 
an ethereal place 
where now is
a blissful state 
and then forgotten 

I fill
my life 
with nothing 
as opposed 
to nonsense 
whole bunches 
of silence 
bundled together 
into bouquets 
of peace 
and quiet 

I don’t worry
about the future 
I don’t think 
about the past
I am simply 
sitting here at
the stoplight at
the intersection of
here and now 
waiting for the 
light to turn 

I now am
a snow globe 
a world self
contained and calm
sometimes shaken up 
into a blizzard 
but soon serenity 
returns and things 
settle back down 
and I sit
on mantle shelf 
or some cranny 
content in peace 
and in place 
until some wide
eyed person comes 
looking for imagination 

The value 
of life 
is measured 
by the 
perspective one 
has gained 
and not 
by the 
years one 
has lived
