Chill changes things
be it affection
or dress or
pace or leaves
Autumn is called
fall for reason
at this time
singular becomes plural
one becomes two
as those things
huddle closer together
warding off the
chill changing things

When I see
what I see
where I see
how I see
I then know
why I see
when I see
what I see
where I see
how I see
you sleeping there
then I see
that I see
there I see
now I see
me there too
Bath
And as the
water starts and
begins to fill
at first splashing
and then flowing
I hear you
behind me popping
the cork pouring
and quickly undressing
and I too
as you slowly
slide in first
sighing at warmth
and watching me
as I join
with the zeal
of a child
slipping his letter
addressed to Santa
into its envelope
TimeSon
When I hear
whether near or
far that particular
melody I’m taken
back to the
first time I
ever heard it
and like the
early evening whistle
of my father
calling me home
for the night
I’m reminded that
despite my desire
to remain longer
I must go
for someone somewhere
on the end
of that whistle
and that melody
calls for me
it’s time son
Vision
I dream of
you here though
we’ve never met
I see you
sitting there standing
here whispering something
that causes me
to rise and
follow I hear
you giggle like
some far off
bell tower ringing
heralding something important
no not death
for you are
not a ghost
but a vision
a prophecy and
a promise of
something better yet
to once come
