I sit in my
room and watch the
cars go by so
many cars so many
many many cars all
going somewhere else than
besides here and I
feel like a bird
sitting on a wire
wondering that there must
be worms somewhere and
maybe way over there
wherever they’re all going

LDLTRelationships (to Jay)
It’s not the proximity
of someone that makes
a relationship a relationship
for there are many
people who live with
others yet feel lonely
It’s not physical presence
that promotes a kinship
it’s time and attention
The place where this
equation occurs is less
important than its summation
for any equation which
subtracts is always less
than what was added
Never worry about distance
for the heart only
measures time and attention
GloriouslyAlone
I am finally learning
to live with less
but in this case
less does mean more
I cannot tell you
how much less leads
to so much more
But refocusing your lens
from others to yourself
you begin to see
so many new things
so many different possibilities
for happiness your happiness
Being alone happy alone
is not the end
that so many think
Being alone happy alone
is a newly discovered
hallway chock full of
doors to where you
will never ever know
until you open one
Home
I have rediscovered happiness
having long ago been
taught but recently forgotten
A home that reflects
you a refrigerator filled
with fresh food and
love in your heart
This home my home
is welcome to all
Come in kick off
your shoes get comfortable
and only ever bring
your love with you
I’ll provide the rest
Easter
And it is Easter
A day of celebration
and of joyful resurrection
But resurrection isn’t a
miracle resurrection can happen
in the smallest things
a dandelion emerging between
sidewalks a phone call
from a thought to
be lost friend and
a morning hello from
some stranger resurrection simply
means rebirth a mulligan
a do over and
another try at being
our very best selves
despite our past darkness
