When I think of
Paris I think of
you sitting there across
the garden and amidst
the rhododendrons and hydrangeas
sipping on an aperitif
You looked so confident
minding your own business
But I being American
I interjected I interrupted
your solace by asking
would you join me
I meant for dinner
You meant for life
So here we are

TreeTalk (for Bean)
And Bean asked me
what tree do you
think that you are
Replying I said the
river willow offering shade
and comfort to travelers
capable of moving yet
remaining strong against winds
And you Bean what
tree might you be
A mature mango tree
specifically a Mangifera tree
for they have deliciously
sweet fruit and provide
plenty of shade and
anything is welcome to
come feast on me
Huh if only you
knew Bean that we
and me already have
DoDoDo
Eventually things do
they just do
what they do
I stopped long
ago making things
do anything else
Making things do
what they’re not
is fool’s gold
It looks good
but just scratch
Let things do
the things they
do don’t make
them anything more
they will do
as they are
BeCrazy!
I believe in living
life not surviving it
People count on their
future for their happiness
so what does that
make today a dry-run
Do you expect to
practice life today so
that tomorrow when your
real life finally happens
you get it right
The only real life
is the one that
you are living today
Do something anything maybe
several things that are
crazy make some memories
Never be regretful for
a life you wasted
Soon
I have often wondered
what an athlete thinks
when the finish line
is in sight do
they remember all of
the pain and sacrifice
all of the missed
memories and lost opportunities
or do they think
soon soon I will
triumph and then celebrate
These same feelings are
for those who propose
hoping they will hear
yes to their question
