Aftermath

And now one week

After the shelling stopped

Seven days post Armageddon

Things are coming back

Nature has a way

Of reclaiming what most

Of humanity allegedly conquered

Pounding and pounding and

Pounding its angry fists

But in the silence

In the deep sigh

Life slowly creeps delicately

Cautiously creeps back home

Much like love will

Once they are gone

Motorboats

I’m packing even lighter

Those that I thought

Wanted to come along

Decided instead to stay

Behind they shall remain

Like so many before

Remember this my friends

We’re all just motorboats

The wake behind you

Is always more turbulent

Than the calm sea

Out there in front

Stretching to the horizon

FinallyFreed

I am Marley free

From boxes I am

Pandora free from furies

And I am Prometheus

Free from his chains

I am finally free

From the one ghost

That’s been haunting me

And like my friends

Above now that we’re

No longer bound what

Might we have learned

That mistakes no matter

How big or small

Were all just choices

We must take responsibility

For lessons befallen us

If we are ever

To move past them

GoodbyeBean

And out it came

Like lava from a

Freshly opened fissure spewing

Words and things that

I never knew existed

Until I actually spoke

Years of bridled anger

Of enough is enough

Of the arguments I

Never made of the

Goodbye I never said

Because you left you

Left you left me

Holding all of this

Well now it’s yours

LoveChanged

There always was goodness

When we were together

But apart tragedy struck

Both of us differently

And now rather than

Comparing similarities which complimented

Like salt pepper espresso

Sugar Pinot and ribeye

We’re comparing our misfortunes

Stacking one against the

Other trying to see

Who has suffered most

This is what love

Looks like amongst the

Decayed and the dying
