I am on the
Cusp rather than the
Precipice I was staring
Into the abyss wondering
But now I straddle
It having gotten one
Foot on the other
Side there’s newness here
I can feel it
Knowing that with just
A few more steps
I will leave darkness
And leap into light
There’s lots of love
Types of love that
Is most come and
Go like the seasons
But there’s one type
That lasts an eternity
That is friendship love
That runs so deep
That not even forty
Years and lifetimes and
Everything that goes with
Diminishes the hearts laughter
There is no better
Time for an adventure
Than right this minute
Time never ever waits
So why should we
Go out be crazy
Try something new kiss
A stranger dream big
And make it happen
The only ones holding
Us back is us
I’m not missing anyone
How strange this is
I’m not saying goodbye
This time around because
I’m taking the old
With me into new
I guess that says
For the first time
In my life I’m
Beginning to make the
Right decisions for me
And no one else
I used to write
About things and about
Feelings and about experiences
That is until I
Studied a winter tree
Free from its leaves
I noticed a similarity
There’s one central thing
That makes all other
Things possible I knew
Then that writing about
Was different than writing
From and that simple
Idea made the difference
I am the tree
My words the branches
And readers its leaves
