Treasure

Me lost itself
to we in
the merry little
game of love
tucked deep into
my pockets away
from loss or
theft I put
myself and in
doing so only
after dust settled
that love is
known to stir
back to pockets
I went searching
for the thing
I’d thought I’d
lost but hadn’t

Bubble

And like
a child
dipping a
wand into
soapy water
I blew
this little
bubble that
I call
now and
crawled inside
to float
about sparkling
seeing all
feeling none
I am
a princess
in his
very own
glass carriage

Things

So many
too many
not enough
so goes
the cycle
of tide
and pantry
of love
and affection
of things
that matter
and of
those that
never did

Life

I’m just
one man
in one
place at
one time
doing the
most extraordinary
things called
my life

Friday13

Today please don’t
walk under ladders
or break mirrors
or spill salt
why you would
but don’t open
an umbrella indoors
get up on
the wrong side
of your bed
and keep both
eyes open for
a flickering eye
is an omen
and avoid the
black cat that
crosses your path
lest you invoke
seven years of
terribly bad luck
