Dying

And I
now left
look around
and wonder
how I
am standing
when all
started to
fall friend
became foe
for life
called me
sorely missed
forever treasured
those I
have cherished
will not
disappear forever
we shall
see each
other again

3Day

It’s a stutter
stammer kinda stupid
day one that
follows a holiday
is it Monday
no it’s Tuesday
what about tomorrow
cars moan and
growl in driveways
hungover as those
who drive them
back to work
the grind is
loathsome the oil
of wine and
revelry dried up

June

It’s soon June
time of sun
and beach and
park of outdoors
and of patios
of less is
more and icy
cold things that
sweat and cool
of swings and
slides and barking
dogs in distance
and humid nights
June is when
the world comes
alive shakes off
the doldrums of
maybes and mights
and makes plans
for friends and
of course love

Memorial

Amidst the beer
brats and buns
between the talk
tastes and teasing
let us not
forget the fallen
who fell silent
so others have
freedom to sing

Clean

Scrub a dub
dub bub said
the tub to
the sink as
the toilet cried
and I’m supposed
to stink with
a brush in
a rush and
a crush on
clean the maid
made her way
to every thing
