Being alone 
is easier 
than being 
lonely because 
when one 
is lonely 
there’s always 
a need
to do 
something whereas 
when one 
is alone 
everything has 
been done 

I’ve decided that 
I’m never going 
to say hello 
to anyone again 
because they leave 
without saying goodbye 
if go they
do then hello 
they will never 
get from me 

I walk
the line 
from ridge 
to valley 
looking for 
breaks and 
seeing none 
finally sit
content with 
in and 
content with 
out such
are fences 
that’re meant
to keep 

Like a bird
who has set
the last twig
I have settled 
down with ahh
as I look
around me thinking 
that this nest
isn’t such a
bad place really 
to sit awhile 
and who knows 

When you love
you stop imagining 
you stop dreaming 
and wishing for 
or to find 
some shiny lamp 
upon to rub
when you love 
you look upon 
and always for 
that shiny object 
known as yours
