We started our
race together neck
and neck but 
as I gained 
you lagged behind 
I turned to 
look back but 
you had disappeared 
what to do 
where to go 
finish I did
back to the 
paddock you went 
some just aren’t 
meant to go 
the long distance 

It’s the little 
steps that lead 
to big things 
change doesn’t happen 
overnight it does 
however start with 
dreams and slowly 
bit by itty
bitty little bit 
dreams make their 
way into reality 
so take that 
very first step
it’s the only 
way to run

To enjoy 
the freedom 
of the 
present is
by settling 
the debts
of past 
not by
ignoring them 
but facing 
and the 
hardest and 
the heaviest 
come last
for those 
are the 
ones who’ve 
been feeding 
the longest 

It’s done 
be it
meal madness 
or men
time now 
to savor 
to sit
in silence 
and watch 
dust settle 

I’m just going 
to sit here
and be quiet 
it is better 
I think than
running away from 
one storm and 
headlong into another
