There’s lots of love
Types of love that
Is most come and
Go like the seasons
But there’s one type
That lasts an eternity
That is friendship love
That runs so deep
That not even forty
Years and lifetimes and
Everything that goes with
Diminishes the hearts laughter
It’s finally here
My travel day
I’m leaving much
Behind mostly things
I don’t need
Relationships and men
I need even
Less what I
Am taking is
Savory a peppering
Of life’s experience
And simply me
I’m going home
To my friends
Not because I
Lost but rather
Because I won
I learned the
Value of friendship
Anything good worth
Having requires sacrifice
Because without it
It’s simply commonplace
Don’t waste time
In your chase
For having everything
But rather place
Your sights on
Less is nice
And usually more
I’ve lived several lives
This life time around
Each one an adventure
Full of awed inspiration
Of amazing beauty and
Hours of quiet contemplation
I chased my dreams
And made them reality
Realizing that the true
Strength in life is
Not just having dreams
But recognizing when you
Capture them giving room
To dream yet again
Spring is coming to
Me in two weeks
The blossoms of friendship
And of the holidays
Will open and smile
And give off the
Fragrance of love and
Hope to everyone lucky
Enough to witness this
They will see and
We will know that
