TwoThings (to Us)

Appearing to be

Like the sun

Two things happening

When we are

Together almost always

First the spring

Following the winter

The unexpected blossoms

Of our smiles

Budding and stretching

Across our faces

And then the

Cloudbursts of laughter

The simple downpour

Of saturating happiness

CicadaSummer

Oh and again

The gnawing started

That sweet cicada

Song of summer

That raspy buzzing

Sound that takes

Me all the

Way back then

Remember those days

Those melodious memories

Cocktails and stars

And those fireworks

Off the pier

Many years ago

All those were

Long before we

Ever even knew

Who we were

Or would become

Separate each other

Dogged summer days

As brittle as

All the photographs

Kept in books

All those days

So long ago

OneLittleInch

Sometimes in life

When we stay

Where we are

We miss things

If we move

Just an inch

This way or

That we do

Get impacted by

People like small

Meteor showers and

Falling stars the

Important thing is

To know when

To move there

And it’s usually

When we least

Expect it yet

That one little

Inch changes us

Forever and ever

Not grand gestures

Just an inch

LoveAbundance

Just like rain

Is to flowers

The sun is

To the moon

The shadow is

To moss and

The cold is

To snow so

Is love to

People in the

Universe there is

Love abundance so

Try to give

It freely and

Often for no

One one can

Ever have enough

Nor will anyone

Ever run out

Give it freely

And as often

As is possible

Even while suffering

For it is

Yours to spread

About and yours

To also harvest

Love love always

Sunday

A yolk surrounded

By white hung

Above flanked by

Strips of clouds

Shards of sunlight

Like shredded paper

Grew long on

The shadowed street

Glints of sun

Danced on bumpers

Just like candlelight

Green and browned

Lawns appeared like

Sprawling checker boards

Birdsong returned calls

Outside my window

Like far-off radios

At long last

The sun returned

Here to Charlotte

Bringing with it

This Sunday morning
