Gone

Some just can’t stay

It’s a lesson learned

Likely as a child

For me it was

Spike a roughhousing cat

Why he had to

Go I’ll never know

And throughout my life

Others followed him to

Where I’ll never know

But as I age

I do know this

That wherever they have

Gone that I will

Too one day follow

SuperPower

Oh now come on

Who doesn’t want a

Super power to be

Able to do things

Others cannot the only

Difference between a super

Power and an abomination

Is a person’s desire

To have be do

Even if you’re born

That very special way

Stride

There is something

To be said about

Hitting your stride so

Much of early life

Is spent bucking and

Trying to throw off

Then trotting and cantering

Stalling thinking and stopping

And finally running and

Breaking into that long

Beautiful gallop when you’re

At one with wind

Dinosaurs

As a poet I

Often wonder as I

Wander about my business

If I like dinosaurs

Know or ever knew

That I or mine

Will one day be

Extinct that one day

And maybe this day

We will no longer

Write or roam leaving

Others to wander wondering

Where’d they all go

GrowingUp

There comes a time

In every man’s life

When growing from sapling

To tree from trying

To doing and from

Student to teacher only

He knows when it’s

Time to push out

To bud then shade

And eventually fall only

To start over again

Until he becomes something

Else a door floor

Or even a memory
