JustSomeSilly (don’t like this)

Oh you’re a poet

I’m asked at parties

You must be ro-MAN-tic

Now who said THAT

By ro-MAN-tic do you

Mean affectionate yes I’m

That I am affectionate

Are you a LUUU-ver

By LUUU-ver do you

Mean have I loved

Yes I have I

Have loved many times

But by romantic do

You mean that I

Ponder to understand the

Depths of loves despair

Of lonely overly imbued

Scantily clad cocktail guests

That are as desperate

As a camel searching

For an oasis from

Which to sate themselves

Only to read about

It here tomorrow morning

Then yes sweetheart I’m

A poet and romantic

*and she staggers off

Leaf

I knew a leaf

Once a magnificent leaf

I watched him bud

And yawn and shiver

On my favorite tree

He whistled in spring

And sunned in summer

He took great pride

In keeping raindrops off

Of hiding children beneath

But then Autumn came

And he grew tired

He lost his looks

And his boyish verve

One day while walking

I heard him ask

What’s happening to me

I looked up saying

It’s time to go

But you’ll be back

In the hearts of

Those who remember you

OhSoNot

His lips felt different

His eyes remained dead

Hands reaching fumbling hurried

As though he didn’t

Know how didn’t care

Only wanted like I

Was junk mail to

Be sorted and tossed

So different from you

That when you did

Touch me I was

Cartier something to behold

To treasure to keep

To display to smile

Upon when no one

Else was even looking

WhatIsIt

What is it about

Bliss which drives bad

Decisions what is it

About promises which drives

Hope what is it

About need which kneads

Flesh what it about

Loneliness which drives strangers

To become wantonly close

For a few hours

Only to be back

In the same place

Casual

Sitting here and watching

Steam rise and disappear

From my coffee thinking

Where does it go

What causes it is

It part of one

Thing only to become

Something else briefly tickling

And then poof gone

Just like you whomever

You are were promised

To be last night

Now nothing more than

Yet another door closing

Behind you in silence
