Rabbits

I allowed myself to
Trust others who knew
Knowing isn’t always better
For those who know
Don’t usually always understand
The mind is wicked
Corrupted tarnished and acidic
It twists things into
Unrecognizable reality it seduces
Like sirens promising better
But like rabbits promises
Elude they duck and
Dodge and scurry dropping
Out of sight leaving
The one chasing to
Wonder where’d it go
When in the wood
Stop chasing when in
The wood breathe when
You finally find yourself
In the wood remember
What was it that
You were chasing and
Then find it yourself
Stop chasing the rabbits

LikeDaffodils

The less that I
Insist that I am
The more that others
Show up the more
That I abandon what
I think and cross
Over to their side
And think a moment
Their way life opens
Like late winter daffodils
Stop being what you
Think that you are
And rather be who
They are looking for
Over there not here
Just like those crazy
Silly late winter flowers

ConsiderThis

And we think that
All we want is
Love but what about
Living this world promises
Like a horny teenager
To respect us in
The morning but with
Each morning comes their
Broken promises leaving me
To wonder just how
Dispensable does this world
Consider me to be

Nightmare

I don’t think about
My past I leave
It alone like the
Sleeping devil it is
At least at rest
It’s no longer conjuring
But during my sleep
Is when my innocence
Is stolen like selfish
Uncles to nephews and
Nieces pawed at undressed
And used for their
Own wicked incestuous pleasure
In sleep is when
My demons dance leaving
Me to wonder if
Because of my own
Behavior here on earth
If eternity like sleep
Will be damned just
Like my nighttime’s are

TypewriterLover

I’m a lover and
a poet I approach
A bed and page
Much the same way
Computers and phones are
Like relationships complicated difficult
Time consuming to navigate
Ah but my typewriter
My typewriter and paper
Are like a lover
Already naked and waiting
Prone and arms outstretched
Beckoning come here love
Let us explore each
Other like those nighttime’s
Before let your fingers
Wander as slowly or
Quickly as your mind
Tastes the vision of
My breast and let
Us climb and fall
And climb higher and
Fall lower at last
Until you murmur aaahhh
