To lean that hand
In which to hold
That smile that invites
And that wink which
Causes a shadowy blush
We all need someone
Not just anyone but
A really good someone

I feel listless lost
Like a shoe that’s
Lost its partner or
Like an envelope that
Lost its postage what’s
One to do when
One isn’t going to
Ever be as good
As two
I’m starting over again
It’s over again and

Or maybe not maybe
I’ll be stay single

I don’t want to
Some days these words
Feel more like anchors
Than balloons I’m heavy
Preferring to just wallow
Than ever really no
Really hoping to fly
Some might think
That luck and
Chance combined with
Spirit means something
Luck and chance
Means absolutely nothing
Spirit
Well spirit means
Everything when given
So many people
Think really on
Happenstance that’s folly
The spirit goes
Where the spirit
