Harmony is an
expression of peace
be it symphony
or a ditty
even a whistle
word or song
it is tactile
when touching something
expected to be
and always is
harmony lacks surprise
giving way to
a constant cycle
of clear certainty
there is no
chaos or question
in harmony but
rather well placed
pauses and rests
pieces of peace
dabbled in about
this little dance

Time
The light of
coffee known as
kitchen in winter
and dawn in
summer peeks around
corners and into
my bedroom doorway
it proposes that
perhaps it’s time
with its warm
yellow wash turning
dark into shadows
soon I say
once I rub
sleep from eyes
and remember feet
and that they
go under me
Times
Difficult times and
challenges make you
stronger and if
you’re really lucky
they will also
make you grateful
and that’s better
than almost anything

then that when
right before the
sun breaks the
roof line and
you shadow swim
in murky darkness
just before sun
pours through sheers
like clean water
on scrubbed floors
and you shine
no longer in
dust but day

It’s funny
how little
it takes
to anything
laugh love
forgive and
be happy
but it’s
big to
those who’re
around you
who have
lost themselves
