Oh so long
ago the music
stopped but I
kept on humming
the same tune
thinking then hoping
that one day
the band would
come to town
they never did
and now even
I have forgotten
what to do
now that I
have no song

I first started writing this blog as a way to refocus my thinking after a debilitating mental breakdown in 2008. Having been educated in writing, I had hoped that my love for words would have left a trail for me to follow and, well, here we are.
Next
I follow
the patterns
and not
the tide
the moon
or stars
I follow
what has
been done
with repetition
and know
what is
coming next
such fools
are those
who hide
behind masks
Reef
A reef
you were
upon which
I swam
too near
you left
your mark
with cuts
and scars
ever so
close to
my heart
Fact
What we had
was long ago
what we have
is very little
so this now
is either new
a fresh start
or it’s old
and finally over
Break
It’s when
what one
thought isn’t
won’t be
and never
really was
that one
hears the
screeching of
the brakes
and one
waits for
what one
knows will
come next
