Blessings aren’t
found in
the doing
or having
or seeing
but in
the saying
and feeling
and thanking
grace and
gratitude and
gratefulness are
more important
as blessings
for they
know and
recognize appreciate
and respect

I first started writing this blog as a way to refocus my thinking after a debilitating mental breakdown in 2008. Having been educated in writing, I had hoped that my love for words would have left a trail for me to follow and, well, here we are.
Showers
First wind
a fury
of anger
rattling windows
a ratatat
knocking let
me in
followed now
by tears
of sorrow
dabbles dabbing
clear panes
of pain
spring showers
don’t bring
just flowers
Rain
I awoke
to rain
a wee
pattering snare
tapping of
impatient nails
a far
away heartbeat
little else
than that
in darkness
I dry
here inside
as the
city and
clouds cry
Less
I have
found nothing
and it
is beautiful
imagine everything
and everyone
being everywhere
now nothing
no one
and nowhere
this then
is me
empty absent
body on
a bed
little more
than that
likely less
Mine
Once found
then finished
now treasured
guarded and
defended too
most things
go missing
not this
for now
belongs to
no one
else else’s
but mine
by myself
and I
