My ears hear
what my eyes
have been missing
long lost melodies
that meant much
a quiet soundtrack
to our silence
the filling in
between the layers
lines and cracks
making a pavement
Author: Harlan Didrickson
I first started writing this blog as a way to refocus my thinking after a debilitating mental breakdown in 2008. Having been educated in writing, I had hoped that my love for words would have left a trail for me to follow and, well, here we are.
Empty
To what of
empty is lovely
for doesn’t none
beg for some
why then is
silence only seen
and never heard
it might seem
everything I know
that has been
empty has always
been filled almost
to the brim
as if empty
couldn’t be more
Patience
I have found
that patience is
a key virtue
in creating a
life that works
no more knee
jerk reactions or
arrogance veiled in
desires or wants
but a listening
to exactly what
it is that
my life needs
in order for
its own happiness
Hmm 🤔
I wonder if
things are in
what we don’t
notice until needed
that maybe then
when before there
we made do
but now when
said and done
if only I
had then maybe
I’d have won
Step
Each step is
a reflection and
a reference to
the one above
and the one
below and each
one is a
chance to make
the last one
better than before
or even after
