It is
always better
when it
is good
but love
isn’t built
on good
love is
built only
upon bad
at some
sufferings end
love then
when soil
is richest
and the
compost of
the past
has been
tilled plant
loves seeds
deeply then

I first started writing this blog as a way to refocus my thinking after a debilitating mental breakdown in 2008. Having been educated in writing, I had hoped that my love for words would have left a trail for me to follow and, well, here we are.
Bad (for Bean)
Bad as
it was
remember this
bad is
what happens
when we
get used
to good
it’s a
reference point
it reminds
us that
tomorrow too
will come
and with
it better
for bad
like most
things worse
doesn’t stick
around long
Besties
It was
friends first
and monkey
business followed
along by
intimate affection
and desire
but as
the tide
of same
went back
to sea
we were
but two
children being
besties and
playing games
in sand
Eyes (to Bean)
At first
I thought
a magnet
but now
I think
a mirror
not exact
in image
but eyes
oh yes
for only
those who
have looked
upon the
heavens wishing
can see
the stars
there in
another’s eyes
BonAppetite (for Bean)
Even though
we know
we continue
to discover
little nooks
and crannies
of each
other maybe
simply overlooked
or forgotten
these little
tidbits crumbs
and morsels
whet our
appetite for
the sweet
sometimes spicy
often sassy
meal we
create together
and savor
with every
single bite
