The past
to many
is worn
like a
uniform heavy
with medals
heralding heroism
when in
fact what
is lauded
are the
victories never
the cost
we never
give out
medals for
the missing
Author: Harlan Didrickson
I first started writing this blog as a way to refocus my thinking after a debilitating mental breakdown in 2008. Having been educated in writing, I had hoped that my love for words would have left a trail for me to follow and, well, here we are.
Lonely
The only
time that
I ever
feel lonely
is when
I write
Pearls
This two
word line
is intoxicating
to me
its brevity
like thought
stops and
then starts
like pearls
kept together
by an
invisible string
ToGo
I write
to go
these things
things new
things now
then not
and when
you find
yourself here
in these
you too
will go
must go
having gone
Tolling
I have
this sense
of dread
like someone
once here
is gone
a bellwether
or perhaps
a bell
in some
far off
belfry tolling
I’m waiting
awaiting now
this news
of my
next heartbreak
