I awaken to
now whereas before
I had waited
things I see
others I hear
sometimes read and
usually always imagined
we all do
this very thing
it’s just that
I have been
tapped like a
maple in some
far off grove
with a spigot
and drained daily
this syrupy blood
that then splatters
and eventually becomes
hopefully a sweetener
to your day

I first started writing this blog as a way to refocus my thinking after a debilitating mental breakdown in 2008. Having been educated in writing, I had hoped that my love for words would have left a trail for me to follow and, well, here we are.
LoveCreativity
I stumbled across
a young man
recently who paints
his world with
colors and tubes
and brushes long
strokes and details
which invite one
into his world
so different from
me that I
sat staring mesmerized
how could he
see that which
I could not
that is until
he showed me
love and creativity
I then realized
show us what’s
always been there
but never seen
Fall
Chill changes things
be it affection
or dress or
pace or leaves
Autumn is called
fall for reason
at this time
singular becomes plural
one becomes two
as those things
huddle closer together
warding off the
chill changing things

When I see
what I see
where I see
how I see
I then know
why I see
when I see
what I see
where I see
how I see
you sleeping there
then I see
that I see
there I see
now I see
me there too
Bath
And as the
water starts and
begins to fill
at first splashing
and then flowing
I hear you
behind me popping
the cork pouring
and quickly undressing
and I too
as you slowly
slide in first
sighing at warmth
and watching me
as I join
with the zeal
of a child
slipping his letter
addressed to Santa
into its envelope
