Don’t judge
Me by
My face
For my
Face is
But a
Map showing
The places
I’ve been
But rather
Hold my
Heart for
It is
My compass
Pointing to
Where I
Shall always
Go next

I first started writing this blog as a way to refocus my thinking after a debilitating mental breakdown in 2008. Having been educated in writing, I had hoped that my love for words would have left a trail for me to follow and, well, here we are.
HappyBirthdayRick❤️
And on this day
One day before me
There you were born
Being first you paved
The way for me
And as best friends
And like a frame
You surrounded my craziness
With home and friendship
Giving me the chance
To whimper and bark
Somewhere in the middle
Of the Midwest somewhere
Tackle boxes are made
You set out first
Knowing I would follow
Tomorrow souls do dream
Before they are born
And we did dream
Of being friends forever
Happiest of birthdays Rick
SnowGlobe
As I sit watching
The exhaust from heaving
Cars sputtering in cold
I’m reminded of that
Now infamous Tuesday night
When across the open
Plains of southern Wyoming
I drove and was
Mesmerized by blowing snow
And decided to stop
And take a moment
To witness this snow
Globe dancing in front
Sometimes I now think
Of that very night
And you beside me
In our own world
WoofWoof
Sitting here and thinking
As I watch people
Walk past my window
Wondering where they go
Feeling like a store
Front puppy for adoption
Thinking that they must
Be going somewhere knowing
That they’re too busy
To take the time
To even notice me
Chestnut
I feel like one
Of those bacon wrapped
Chestnuts that lost his
Toothpick simmeringly falling apart
In the oven while
My friends gleefully crackle
And fry like husbands
And wives on the
Beaches of Waikiki I’m
No longer a pig
In a blanket but
Simply a naked chestnut
