LovesTyranny

My minds evilness

Conjures like warlocks

Standing over a

Tureen of goo

Falsity of you

Creating lies which

Like all spells

Do nothing but

Emphasize my insecurity

Why oh why

Do I place

You in such

Prisons when your

Only crime was

To love me

Exonerated now freed

From my dungeon

Squinting you turn

Back your soul

Simply asking why

What you’ve done

We are all

Capable of the

Tyranny of love

LovePoem#013

Like the first

Pages of a

Novel I struggled

With interest but

Now chapters in

I simply can’t

Put you down

I’m saturated like

A freshly watered

Lawn steeped in

Your moisture growing

Sprouting like a

Field of wildflowers

One day or

Flower prettier than

The next soon

I will finish

Reading this book

That you are

Ready to write

The sequel this

Time with you

Lover(s)

I dreamt of

Lovers past and

Present they brought

Me joy like

That first snowfall

In late November

Full of wonderment

And awe like

That first tickling

Ahh upon dipping

Toes in a

Cool Wisconsin lake

And warmth like

That cabin fire

In Vermont after

An afternoon of

Sledding I awoke

Nestled beneath comforters

Knowing that I

Was loved and

In turn loved

LovePoem#9

It’s true that

We go together

Like grilled cheese

And tomato soup

Find comfort together

Like puppies sleeping

Fit together like

Letter and envelope

As different as

Winter and summer

Yet revolve around

Each other like

Sun and moon

Sharing the sky

Shining when the

Other is asleep

Subtle as winks

Grand as laughter

OurKiss

So we kissed

The heavens opened

Revealing a new

Universe just on

The other side

Of now a

Place only accessed

In our minds

As eyes closed

And mouths opened

And fingers explored

As the hands

Of God himself

Pressed us together

And Angel sighs

Escaped our lips

Setting dew upon

The morning flowers
