New always comes
as a surprise
not always good
change usually follows
even if the
initial spark slows
but if something
does once then
it’s capable again
be it breath
or even water

Reflect
Most look in
mirrors to see
taking note making
decisions often harsh
but so few
put away mirrors
and just sit
quietly with themselves
and think reflect
exploring those musty
mundane and miserable
nooks and crannies
oft overlooked but
packed with remorse
no makeup no
mousse no magic
just you and
yours and them
Towel
The sting snaps
the corner of
a wet towel
and I standing
naked wonder why
I stand here
asking for this
isn’t being naked
here naughty enough
no that which
was supposed to
protect me turned
like a dog
growling and biting
from whom’s hand
it doesn’t matter
crack is heard
pain then lingers

This is not
how I expected
it to look
but I’m very
glad that it
looks like this
and that’s all
I can say
about everything else
including just this
about being that
Crap
I don’t know
how people get
to where they
go likely by
accident for who
really knows which
direction is best
isn’t life just
a crap shoot
