Negativity is a siren 
a seductress a magnet 
and a well laid
trap that once sprung 
is impossible to free
it is very tempting 
to have just one 
or do just one 
or try just one 
but negativity being 
negative can never be 
positive no matter how 
much or how long 
or how quickly even
you try to convince 
yourself otherwise steer clear 
of that orbit unless 
you find yourself first
for while negativity appears 
bright as the sun 
it destroys quickly too

I slid
back in 
to your 
life and 
into bed 
this bed
which for 
now is 
us we
a playground 
a dreamscape 
maybe beginning 
not end 
for end
we’ve already 
had this 
us we
returning to 
I me

You walked out 
of one door
and I through 
another yours taking 
you to one 
place and me 
to another maybe 
you wanted to 
get away to 
anywhere than this 
and I then 
did too for 
there was nothing 
and now three
years later after 
the battles that 
I know we
fought we find
ourselves in the 
same victory parade
and I wonder 
if just maybe 
we have come 
back through the 
same door that 
we had left 

I have decided 
to leave life 
behind at least 
that which most 
everyone calls life 
I have decided 
to lock myself 
away far above 
the incessant din
of demand despair 
and desperation to 
drop myself into 
some bottle bobbing 
out to sea
unaware of where
I am going 
but knowing that 
anywhere must be 
better than this 

We tend to think 
of life in terms 
of time of beginning 
and end of start
and stop and of
all those in betweens 
but what if life 
wasn’t linear what if 
life was spherical what 
if one point reflected 
another and then another 
and we were simply 
hovering in the middle 
and that no point 
was ever more important 
or less important than 
any of the others
