Wings

I like a
hatchling discovering wings
I know not
what they do
these strange things
they do something
that I’m certain
but just what
I know not
like my lips
for they sit
and have sat
on my face
but until yours
they didn’t know
and as the
wind is to
wings so are
your lips mine

Prayer

There is this
moment when I
forget the past
having already lived
and the future
but a dream
has not yet
even been born
this moment heralds
like the porch
light of soul
come home boy
it’s dark now
time for sleep
this day done

Dishcloth

I a
simple dishcloth
having once
cleaned up
then what
little was
left wrung
and tossed
to sit
useless until
next time

Tea

I am
just sitting
here with
sadness having
a cup
of tea
with lemon
for there
is nothing
sweet about
having tea
with she

Pond

There are
some things
that I
want to
talk about
but their
mere thought
are boulders
dropping into
an otherwise
sanguine pond
disrupting even
those things
thought invincible
it’s best
me thinks
to be
the boulder
and let
it remain
where it
has landed
I pond
will recover
