And then in the
Corner of the lower
Pane snow gathered gathering
And I could hear
The little sounds of
Tickling glee as the
Outstretched hands of snowflakes
Took hold of one
Another like school children
Playing in the yard
And then in the
Corner of the lower
Pane snow gathered gathering
And I could hear
The little sounds of
Tickling glee as the
Outstretched hands of snowflakes
Took hold of one
Another like school children
Playing in the yard
It hit hard like
Fresh cold mountain air
Making me gasp choke
News that wracked me
Like a lynch mob
Making me retreat from
The outside in as
The dust of devastation
Settled in my heart
My mind reeled a
Deep sea lure taken
And run unable to
Pull it back in
The news whatever it
Was then numbed me
And like a criminal
I denied my culpability
It was that bad
I’m circling the wagons
Mystified by what’s happening
Here and across the
World everything just seems
About to boil over
I don’t know how
To stop the tsunami
I just one grain
Perhaps if I poke
And you poke and
They poke and then
Most everyone else pokes
Each little sand grain
Combined can stand together
And simply say no
We are not nothing
And can stop Armageddon
For if not us
Who they don’t care
I write in reaction
Someone something inspires me
More often than not
However what looks good
On the plate or
In the picture or
In the mind’s eye
Turns out to be
As flat as a
Previously opened bottle of
Soda or snowfall on
Sidewalks or in this
Case someone too good
To be realistically true
Here we go again
Bourbon at attention
Cigar awaiting flame
Two things poised
Awaiting their consumption
Like two lovers
Trapped in time
Wondering if now
Will then be
When and where
How and whom
