being it and

a warm sweater
layered on thoughtlessly
a quick peck
on the cheek
out the door

become an expectation with
disappointment from a promise

is it easy to

little more than an
item on some menu
delivered by a stranger
Lint
Will you grow bored
will I of this
I’m empty maybe dry
all I find is lint
or old linty candy
not much to say
just quiet in darkness
wondering where it went
and if ever was

I’ve been a tailor
for the last twelve
years holding on by
a thread be it
sanity or madness it
was my life I lived
running like a fugitive
from my love crimes
buying time rather than
serving it I knew
that one day I
would one day find
my island and there
I would finally rest
atop sand beneath sun
listening to the sea

This alone
I feared
once is
now my
friend loves
we are
and no
one else
is welcome
to our
tea party
for one
