Sometimes sometimes I
guess things change
rivers seasons and
such people too
love also and
lovers too change
for unlike rivers
and seasons they
choose to change
the very thing
that they chose
to change once

The us
we are
is better
now than
ever before
growth has
given way
like two
separate teeming
ponds our
lives have
consumed the
land between
making us
one lake
one very
large lake

Keep your damn
platitudes your poo
poo pooing pity
let me alone
to lick wounds
not from bite
but from blight
that your lies
caused to die

Why oh why
oh why do
people lie and
then when caught
try to justify
don’t they understand
that they’re no
different than the
mouse caught in
the trap begging
for its life
swearing that it
never liked cheese

I like
calling you
things I
see for
when seen
I see
me telling
you that
I saw
you before
I’d ever
seen them
