I never thought
that I would
but I did
and that slope
found me there
stuck in mud
at the bottom
of the hill
but it wasn’t
the slope nor
even the hill
that caused landslide
but the rains
of love that
broke the treetops
causing everything underfoot
to give way
and now years
later what had
been swept away
by the monsoon
has been rebuilt
stronger than before
and maybe now
we can see
the vista of
what we us
you and me
just could be

Back
In a few days
you’ll be here
we will talk
likely catch up
maybe even create
but most laugh
I’m excited naturally
timid as well
I’m not sure
what you’ll say
if you’ll talk
about your adventures
maybe your feelings
but I promise
to patiently listen
because last time
was my time
to talk and
we both know
how that went
AmINot
I would like
but one thing
to remain or
perhaps to return
having grown weary
of the new
new is exciting
until its forgotten
or likely lost
am I too
temporary to things
to these things
which I too
was once new
am I not
one of those
things that too
remain or return
OldFriends
There are some
but not many
of which I
comfortably slide into
like an old
pair of shoes
that just fit
having walked miles
along with me
or a sweater
that’s kept chill
away at bay
at arms length
tattered and frayed
maybe too big
a wooly friend
which to wallow
these friends that
might not talk
often do recall
life’s greatest adventures
ThatSimple
Everything that
has happened
to me
was meant
to happen
to me
therefore I
hold no
remorse regret
or regard
to any
of it
