Each glass
every glass
is either
half full
or then
half empty
one prosperity
and the
other scarcity
why then
drink from
the one
never enough
when one
can when
one wants
have his
fill and
his aplenty

ThatSquirrel
A red squirrel
visits me daily
I feed him
chestnuts wishing to
keep him around
it’s a squirrel
after all only
one of many
but it’s the
one and the
only one that
comes here comes
closest comes routinely
and this squirrel
has now become
my children and
my grandchildren that
I never had
the great fortune
of watching play
MiseryClouds
The clouds today
are like tufting
laid out lengthwise
on a table
one after another
like the corpses
of fallen warriors
on and on
as far as
the eye sees
this morning’s clouds
herald a misery
not only seen
but silently felt
for anyone knowing
them this way
GetMoving
A potential path
forward if you’re
ever feeling overwhelmed
do your routines
whatever they may
be make your
bed bathe shave
clean your home
routines are known
as physical meditation
they center you
by removing you
from your mind
and into body
through simple action
Pain
On this
my journey
I’m present
to pain
of others
but not
from reality
I’ve noticed
that their
pain comes
mostly from
their avoidance
of it
