MeByMyself
I thought that
I knew happiness
before but happiness
when around others
isn’t really happiness
that’s called company
happiness is when
you’re all alone
and enjoying the
things that you
have surrounded yourself
my happiness occurs
in the simplest
smallest and quietest
moments when I
am by myself
and all alone
with just me
I’ve learned to
make myself happy
OhSoFitzgerald
One more dream
becomes a reality
I’ve been ticking
them off all
of my life
but this one
is one of
the best ones
sitting in front
of a fireplace
and drinking coffee
while listening to
the wafting melodies
of Chopin Tchaikovsky
and DeBussy feeling
the warmth tickle
my feet and
throat writing poetry
oh so Fitzgerald
sans the G&T
Work-In-Progress
I am myself
a work-in-progress
a rough draft
hardly a page
turner and more
a treatment an
outline an amalgamation
of thoughts and
ideas added and
then removed then
added again like
they were new
scratches and scribbles
exposing the posturing
of crazy ideas
and of possibilities
once written and
never done until
that is the
Creator closes the
book of me
and assuredly exclaims
it’s a wrap
LeanTo
It’s true I am
a rock much less
an obstacle and much
more a lean to
not much to get
over up or around
more as a place
to sit and to
take refuge to untie
shoes and rub weary
feet a place to
assess and take bearing
before continuing gaily on
I will always be
exactly where I am
whereas you will not
you’ll be a moment
