I think
that it’s
best that
I say
nothing at
all for
it’s not
that you
can’t understand
it’s that
you won’t
and that
burden isn’t
yours it
has always
been mine
to keep

Bloodhound
My desire
for sex
and love
has at
long last
found its
place like
a bloodhound
that used
to chase
it now
spends its
last lazy
days on
the front
porch sunning
itself surrounded
by once
had long
gone memories
Stoplight
In my town
when I was
young we had
this one intersection
a four-way stop
manners were then
a complete stop
looking both ways
giving a nod
and a smile
and sometimes even
an after you
then they installed
a stop light
telling one when
to stop and
when to go
and just like
most of life
and of love
the exact moment
one is told
that they can’t
they always do
we had more
accidents and fatalities
people speeding through
manners now gone
life with it
ArmisticeGone
And I’m back
in the trenches
I swear I
thought the war
was finally over
but once again
I find myself
huddled in the
same trenches with
others like myself
wondering whether if
we will ever
just be able
to be together
with one lover
absent of the
shelling of anonymous
desire flying overhead
AmI
Am I
too bitter
to love
have I
heard this
joke so
often that
I know
the punchline
before delivery
are my
arms too
tired to
hold and
knees too
sore to
lift and
feet too
to old
to dance
I will
just sit
and watch
and remember
when I
once did
